Martin Dingli (Artist)

Martin was born in Malta, the fourth of five children, spending a privileged childhood in an historic palazzo in the magnificent bastion city of Valetta. At 14, his family migrated to Australia, where Martin completed his schooling, obtaining several qualifications.

This translation to a radically different country & culture had a significant formative effect on the artist, creating a duality of citizenship & seeing, which remains highly influential in his work.

Martin Dingli is an engineer, artist, and owner-operator of Digital Art On Glass

He is a dual Maltese-Australian citizen. Dingli spent a number of years in automotive design, before transferring his skills to marketing of high end cars both in Australia, Italy, Malta & other European countries. By his mid-thirties, a yearning for ‘something more’ saw him abandon his automotive career and pursue more artistic endeavours. Since 2009, he has been working to apply his art to interior design applications.

Products

Dingli Digital Creations specializes in glass splash-backs for home and commercial applications. There are no limits to the design possibilities. Works can be developed from clients’ own images, or designed from an extensive catalog of original artworks (see website for details):

Bespoke bathroom shower screens

Glass shower screens are sleek and chic. They deliver a unified and polished look in any bathroom space. Shower screens come in myriad design options that allow full integration in any bathroom configuration. Screens can be formed into shower doors, or as panels for walls in shower wells. The printing of the glass is the last process, so the glass can be cut, polished, drilled and toughened to any shape or size enabling unlimited applications.

All projects start with a comprehensive brief followed by ongoing consultation, as we collaborate with our clients to deliver a unique piece that surpasses their expectations. We utilise a number of manufacturing techniques – depending on the application and installation – to produce a wide range of architectural glass printed products including toughened and laminated glass.

Technical Speciification

Art can be printed on the glass of varying thickness. Standard thicknesses measures are:
4mm – 10 kg
6mm – 15 kg
8mm – 20 kg
10mm – 25 kg
12mm – 30 kg
Digital Art On Glass recommend using at least 6mm thickness for kitchen splashbacks, and at least 8-10mm for shower screens.

Two-pac

The reverse of the printed glass is coated with two-pac hardener. This protects the image and provides a clean strong surface for installation.

Printing process

Images are printed at an unprecedented 1,000 dpi - equivalent to fine art quality. Digital Art On Glass print with Durst inks which are Green Friendly certified.

Installation

Installation can be arranged at a cost to the end client.

Payment

A 50% deposit for commissioned panels is required on order, with the balance of payment due on completion of delivery.
